Meet the Staff

William J. Ertle, CLSO, CMLSO, President

Mr. Ertle has been associated with Rockwell Laser Industries (RLI) since 1989 where he now holds the position of President. Bill has provided in-depth lectures and training presentations for numerous RLI Training Institute courses, industry conferences, as well as presentations for events at Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratories, The Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, IEEE/LEOS, OPTCON, ALAC, Bay Area Laser Safety Officers (BALSO) and the International Laser Safety Conference (ILSC). Bill has also authored and co-authored several laser safety articles.

In addition to his training-based activities, he routinely provides RLI clients with product specific technical information on laser safety eyewear, windows, barriers, interlocks and other related laser safety equipment.

Bill is the Chairman of the ANSI Z136 Technical Standards Committee on Control Measures and Training (TSC-4) and a voting member of the Accredited Standards Committee, the main Z136 committee. He is an active member of the Laser Institute of America (LIA) and a former member of their Board of Directors as well as a member of the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). He is a member of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Technical Committee on Laser Safety and is a Certified Laser Safety Officer by the Board of Laser Safety. Bill is a graduate of Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH.

Nancy Mauro, Executive Assistant

Nancy joined the staff at the end of 2014 and is the Executive Assistant to our President, Bill Ertle. In addition, she oversees daily office operational functions, manages consulting projects, and coordinates special corporate functions.

Nancy has worked as an executive assistant for over 25 years in both the Food Service Industry and the Pharmaceutical Industry.
